FIVE PILLERS OF PAYLA PROJECT
Provides cultural education and leadership training for young adults.
Gifted and talented youth entering and matriculating in colleges or universities who become facilitators in the PAYLA Academy and the PAYLA Summit.
Is an annual leadership retreat held in January and June retreat designed to provide a platform where young adults and members of the community come together to explore, examine and exchange stories, ideas thoughts and aspirations about building the beloved community The highlight of the summit is a rites of passage ceremony.
Encompasses a historic sojourn to Ghana, West Africa and to the United States. This triennial pilgrimage will allow PAYLA Scholars in the U.S. and Ghana to participate in a unique field education experience to learn firsthand about the mid-Atlantic slave trade and to gain knowledge of their cultural heritage on the African and North American Continents.
